Following Up With Fiona

Fiona Hogg, a PWG member and a DFS Ambassador, has been inspiring the Dress for Success Vancouver community for the past few years. Fiona was originally a Dress for Success client referred to us after a series of difficult events brought her to Vancouver. Since then she has had an incredible journey of personal growth and transformation and in 2016 Fiona was the recipient of the Success Luncheon’s Inspiration Award. Recently we sat down with Fiona to see where this past year has taken her.

Miriam Linderman

We had the pleasure to work with Miriam Linderman a few years ago when she walked through our boutique doors as a client and we gave her an interview outfit. Several years later, Miriam is now a successful coach with her own private practice. She’s decided to give back to Dress for Success Vancouver by facilitating a Career Centre workshop on The Importance of Play in Life and Work this coming April 2017.

Vivian’s Story

I realized cycle of abuse was continuing and I knew it had to stop it for my daughter’s sake and for my own. I connected with Dress for Success Vancouver and began to get the help I needed to break the cycle.

Fiona Hogg

Everyone has a story. PWG member, Fiona Hogg, shares her story at the 4th Annual Success Luncheon where she received the Inspiration Award for outstanding achievement and leadership in the community.

Kate’s Story

Dress for Success helped me look professional and gave me the confidence to present myself to the world as I wanted to be seen: competent, secure, and skilled. DFS changed my life by helping me fulfill my goal of being employed.

Eva’s Story

Dress for Success taught me very wide and diverse views to help discover my abilities and dreams. When you open your mind, work hard, and think positive you will be motivated to challenge yourself to make things happen.

Kira’s Story

My story is not an easy one to tell and it doesn’t have a tidy beginning, middle and end. As a transwoman, I’ve faced many challenges involving discovery and courage. Through Dress for Success Vancouver, I’ve benefited from the warm embrace of a community of women who have helped me live an authentic life.

Mercy’s Story

I was penniless, unemployed, and my family had all but turned their back on me. My fear turned to desperation. I realized that if my situation was going to change, I was going to have to change it. I was determined to prove to my family and myself that despite everything, I was capable of providing for my son and giving him the life he deserves.

Rachel’s Story

Rachel was working in a health clinic, but her hours disappeared once the pandemic hit. Now, she’s at home taking care of her son and looking for a new job. But times are hard. There aren’t a lot of jobs.
